Ducati finally revealed its line-up for next year, i.e. the new 2013 Multistrada range. The new range comprises of four new models, namely, Ducati Multistrada 1200, Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring, Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo, and Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak. These models will pack a second generation Testastretta 11° engine and ABS. Plus, the 'S' versions will be equipped with a semi-active suspension system called Ducati Skyhook Suspension.
The current 1200 S Sport model will be discontinued and replaced by Ducati's new flagship motorbike --- Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo, as all the models from the range make a comeback with significant changes. While the Multistrada 1200 features the Ride-by-Wire (R-b-W) technology and Ducati Traction Control, the Multistrada 1200 S Touring also adds DSS to the list. The range's flagship model, i.e. Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo, now has increased side luggae capacity, a top case, additional LED illumination, enhanced wind protection and long distance tyres. Whereas the Pikes Peak model gets an updated paint job. However, the most significant change comes via the introduction of both, the Granturismo model and Ducati's new semi-active suspension system.
All the models of the Ducati Multistrada range come fitted with Ducati's ingenious 'Riding Mode' system, which allows the driver to change between Sport, Touring, Enduro and Urban riding modes at the flick of a designated switch. This innovative system also electronically adjusts the suspension in accordance with the selected mode, but only in the S variants. The range also gets the company's eight-level DTC and the new three-level ABS Safety Pack (DSP). Ducati will unveil the 2013 Multistrada range from October 3 – 7, at the INTERMOT motorcycle show in Germany. The bikes will be made available for orders from December.
