Honda Achieves Over 25 Million Scooter Sales In India

Honda’s market share which once stood at 10 per cent in 2001 has multiplied threefold in 17 years 

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has announced that its scooter sales have crossed the milestone figure of 25 million. The time under which Honda India has managed to achieve this task makes it an industry-first record!  

To elaborate, the company achieved 10 million sales within 13 years, and an additional 10 million was added to the count in the following three years. The next 5 million was accomplished within an even shorter time frame of just one year. Moreover, Honda’s market share, which once stood at 10 per cent in 2001, has increased to a whopping 32 per cent in 2018.

Currently, Honda has the largest scooter lineup in the industry, ranging from the Cliq, designed for rural areas, to the Honda Dio and the Aviator. The Honda Activa, which has been dominating the scooter market for eons, is also part of the company's portfolio. Additionally, the manufacturer also offers a premium 125cc range of scooters which includes the Activa 125 and Grazia 125.
