Honda Activa E-Swap Station Launch Dates Announced

Honda recently unveiled the Activa e: in India and the scooter gets swappable batteries. In order to reduce the waiting time and range anxiety for customers, Honda has planned to set up battery swapping stations across the country which they plan to bring in a phased manner.
In the phase 1 of setting up battery swapping stations, three cities have been selected, Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi. Honda has announced that the battery swapping stations in the city of Bengaluru will be operational from the month of February 2025 and will have 250 swapping stations spread across the city. After Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi are on the list with battery swapping stations to be functional from April 2025 and will have 100 and 150 swapping stations respectively.
In 2021, Honda established HEID (Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited). HEID has partnered up with Hindustan Petroleum, Bangalore Metro, Delhi metro, Adani Electricity in Mumbai and Honda dealerships across the cities to set up battery swapping stations for two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The Honda Activa e: gets two swappable 1.5kWh batteries which Honda claims will provide a range of 102km. The electric Honda Activa makes 6kW and 22Nm. Honda claims it will accelerate from 0 to 60kmph in 7.3 seconds, and has a top speed of 80kmph. The scooter gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock, and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends. Brakes include a 130mm disc at the front and 110mm drum at the rear. The scooter weighs 119kg kerb and has a ground clearance of 171mm.
The official price for the Activa electric will be announced in January 2025 and once launched, it will go against the likes of TVS iQube, Ola S1 and the Bajaj Chetak.
