Honda Activa Electric: Features Explained

To be launched in January 2025, and the deliveries of the Honda Activa E will begin from February 2025

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has finally unveiled the Activa e:. It is an electric sibling of Honda India's best-selling scooter, the Activa. With the Activa E, Honda aims to compete with other electric family scooters in the country and establish a strong presence in the EV segment, similar to how the petrol-powered Activa leads the sales charts.

The Honda Activa e: gets a mid-mounted motor that makes 6kW and 22Nm, similar to 110cc petrol scooters. It gets two swappable 1.5kWh batteries, delivering a claimed range of 102km. 

Honda Activa e: Features

The Honda Activa e: is available in 2 variants: standard and Honda RoadSync Duo. Both the variants have all-LED lighting all around along with a charging port and a fob key. The scooter also comes with three ride modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport. It also has a reverse mode.

The standard Activa e: features a 5-inch TFT instrument console which displays all the necessary information like, speed, odometer, range, battery, tripmeter, modes and other basic tell-tale lights. It misses out on smartphone connectivity features.

The top Honda RoadSync Duo has a 7-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. It additionally includes navigation, call and music control, live tracking, maintenance alerts, and OTA (over-the-air) updates.

Both the scooters have a telescopic fork and a 3-step adjustable monoshock. It is equipped with disc brakes at the front and a drum brake at the rear. The electric scooter has 12-inch  alloy wheels on both ends, wrapped with 90-section front and 110-section rear tyre. The Activa e: has a generous 171mm ground clearance and a 118-119kg kerb weight, depending on the variant.

Expected Price & Rivals

The Activa Electric will be launched in January 2025. Its deliveries will start from February 2025 in a phased manner, starting from Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, while other major Indian cities will follow. Honda is also providing a 3-year or 50,000km warranty. The Activa e: will also get three free services along with complimentary roadside assistance for the first year.

We expect the Honda Activa e: to be priced somewhere around Rs 1.3 lakh (ex-showroom, including subsidy).
