A complete lowdown of the bike in five important points

Honda recently launched the BS6-compliant CD 110 Dream in India. It comes with several new features, a new powerplant and tweaked graphics to keep it looking fresh. Just in case you missed out, here are five important points that’ll bring you up to date with the BS6 CD 110 Dream.

Feature galore

The BS6 CD 110 Dream is the first bike in its segment to come with a silent starter motor for quick and noiseless startups. It even gets a segment-first engine kill switch, a feature that isn't even available on some more premium Hondas like the CB Hornet 160R.

Horsepower

The CD 110 Dream is powered by an all-new BS6-compliant 109.51cc fuel-injected engine. It comes with several friction reduction technologies which according to Honda offers better mileage than the BS4 model. It makes 8.79PS at 7500rpm and 9.3Nm at 5500rpm as opposed to the previous 8.42PS at 7500rpm and 9.09Nm at 5000rpm. The motor works in conjunction with a 4-speed transmission.

Weighs more

The added weight of the emission controlling equipment means the CD Dream now weighs in at 112kg kerb, 1kg more than before. Interestingly, the ground clearance has decreased from 179mm on the previous-gen bike to 162mm in the BS6-compliant version.

Additional peace of mind

Hondas are known to be reliable. The CD 110 Dream’s 6-year warranty (3-year warranty + additional 3-year extended warranty free) adds weight to this claim. That said, this offer is only available for a limited time.

A huge jump from the original price

The CD 110 Dream gets a starting price of Rs 62,729 (ex-showroom Ahmedabad), a premium of Rs 13,695 over the corresponding BS4 model. It's available in two variants: Standard and Deluxe, with the only difference between the variants being their colour schemes. Also, the Deluxe variant is Rs 1,000 more expensive. It competes against the Hero HF Deluxe BS6, TVS Sport BS6 and Bajaj CT110.

The price hike may be substantial, but Honda has tried to justify the premium fairly well with additions like a brand new engine, new segment-first features, and a fresh new look imparted by new paint schemes and graphics.
