Honda targeted to sale 16 lakh bikes in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, India's no. fourth two wheeler maker of India has targeted to sale out 16 lakh bikes in domestic market including its scooter range. After split between Hero-Honda, the company wants to spread its wings in whole Indian market with high frequency.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's Operating Head (Sales and Marketing), Naresh Kumar Rattan said that the company is getting good response from market in both segment like bike and scooter and it targeted to sell 16 lakh unites of both two wheeler in domestic market by the month of March 2011. He added that the company is expecting to get a double-digit growth in bike and scooter segment.
HMSI has exported 61000 units till the month of November this year and now it is planning to get the mark of one lakh two wheelers (bike and scooter) by the end of this year that is 75000 units; greater than the previous year.
The company is going to add one more entry-level supersports bike in its stable i.e. Honda CBR 250R by the month of April next year. It is expected that this upcoming bike will have price tag of Rs. 150000 in Indian market. The company is also reported to bring out a 100cc bike in India.
Its Hariyana plant total production capacity is 16 lakh two wheelers per year. And now its wants to increase it with the investment of 500 crore in Rajasthan plant as well. The company is setting up a new manufacturing plant here and it is expected that the production will be started by the end of next year.
Recently Honda CB Twister has been got bike of the year 2011 award. At present this is Honda's entry-level bike in India which is getting great response from market.
