A B2B e-scooter has been spied in Hosur near TVS’ manufacturing plant, indicating the company could be entering the lucrative segment
- The test mule looks somewhat similar to the Hero Electric Nyx HX.
- Gets ample space on the floorboard and a roomy cargo rack at the rear.
- Features an LED headlight, digital instrument cluster, and disc brakes at both ends.
- Could be launched in mid 2022.
TVS already revealed in October this year that it is working on a new subsidiary for electric two-wheelers, and that it could launch as many as six EVs in the next two years. One of them could be a commercial B2B electric scooter, as a test mule has been spotted testing. While it is unclear as to which brand it is, it could very likely be from TVS as it was reportedly spotted near the company’s manufacturing plant in Hosur.

The electric scooter is reminiscent of the Hero Electric Nyx. Like the Nyx, this one too gets a long wheelbase to ensure plenty of storage space. There’s a roomy luggage rack where the pillion seat is supposed to be, and the electric scooter gets a spacious flat floorboard too. For extra safety, it gets saree guards on both sides, which double up as saddle stays. The electric scooter features a telescopic front fork, and the rear is likely to be a twin shock absorber unit. It also gets disc brakes at both ends, and rolls on what looks like 12-inch alloys at both ends.
One can also see the rectangular fully digital instrument cluster, possibly carried over from the TVS iQube Electric. That said, the console will likely sport a much simpler layout, and won’t have as many features as the one in the iQube. The electric scooter also gets an LED headlight and sleek indicators, which could also be LEDs.
It’s still a little too early to comment about the electric scooter’s performance and range. That said, it could be priced competitively as it will be more utilitarian than high-tech. The B2B electric two-wheeler segment is showing a huge potential thanks to regulations that encourage companies to electrify their fleet. Expect TVS to launch the electric scooter around mid 2022.
