Before professional riders take these motorcycles to the Big Rock Dirt Park for some sideways action, here are some clear images of the custom Himalayan

Royal Enfield wants to you to go sideways. Well, not on public roads, but actual dirt tracks. The bike maker will soon start a flat tracking school in India, with the first venue being the Big Rock Dirtpark in Bengaluru. Now that we have a place, what about the machines? Enter the custom Himalayan that was showcased at the 2019 Rider Mania. What’s so special about this custom Himalayan? Scroll down to find out:

The custom motorcycle is built in collaboration with S&S Cycles and Pune-based Autologue Design.

Being a flat tracker, Royal Enfield has removed the headlight, rear foot pegs and front fender.

And oh, want to see at what speed you’re cornering? Well, you can’t because there’s no speedometer.

It gets a custom fibre bodywork and a custom seat. Also, there’s a number plate on the side as well just like any other flat tracker!

Being a flat tracker, the custom Himalayan doesn’t get any brakes at the front.

The 411cc unit is the same as seen on the standard motorcycle. This powerplant belts out 24.83PS and 32Nm of torque.

However, the exhaust note will be different thanks to the custom S&S exhaust.

It comes equipped with 18-inch wheels at both ends instead of 21-/17-inch as seen on the standard motorcycle. The custom motorcycle also gets off-road tyres, which are courtesy of Timsun.

Royal Enfield has also changed the rear sprocket and now, it has two extra teeth for better acceleration.

All these changes have made the custom Himalayan around 12-15kg lighter than the standard motorcycle!
