The Iconic British Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled the sketch of its upcoming 250cc motorcycle at 2013 EICMA. The baby Daytona will be manufactured in India from 2015. The company officially announced that it will be a new sport bike with a quarter litre engine and might be crishtened as Triumph Daytona 250. The bike will get the full size fairing like the Daytona 675. The bike is expected to deliver a power output of 30bhp.
Apart from this baby Daytona, the company is also testing a small displacement naked bike similar to its Street Tripple R. And we think that both the bikes will use the same engine and the naked bike will also named on its elder sibling like Triumph Street Triple 250. Both the bikes will be manufactured at the Indian facility of the company near Bangalore for both domestic and export sales.
These entry level Triumph bikes are expected to be launched by the end of 2015 and they will compete for the likes of Honda CBR250R, HyosungGT250R, Duke390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. These are existing rivals of the bike in India, however, many other manufacturers are eying on Indian market with their new bikes in the respective segment like BMW and KTM, which will give a strong competition to the Triumph.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to BikeDekho for all the updates on entry level Triumph motorcycles.
