The TVS Creon, which was first showcased at Auto Expo 2018, could finally make its way to the market
After a long silence, TVS has finally spoken about its future EV plans with the highlight certainly being the much-awaited TVS Creon electric scooter.
The Creon isn’t really a new offering, though. TVS first showcased it at Auto Expo 2018, but since then, there wasn’t much of an update until Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS, revealed what lies ahead.
Being a sporty electric scooter, the Creon will go head on against the Ather 450X, the current flagship for electric scooters in India. The Creon gets a vertical LED headlamp and aggressive panels, all wrapped in red and white, further hinting that it’ll be more of a performance-oriented offering, rather than a commuter.

And this makes total sense since TVS already has a successful sporty scooter in the shape of the NTorq 125 which is well received by Indians and could be used as a reference for features and a benchmark for performance.
Back in 2018, the bikemaker had revealed the Creon puts out 16PS and could reach nought to sixty in under 5.5 seconds, almost a second faster than the Ather 450X. We are hopeful the production version of the Creon retains this performance. We also got a taste of the Creon’s extensive full-colour TFT instrument cluster, coupled with a joystick controller, which again, could give it an edge over its rivals.
Considering all this, the TVS Creon will certainly sweep the floor in the electric two-wheeler space, something which the TVS iQube has failed to do. That said, pricing will be a key factor. We think the Creon could retail around the Rs 1.40 lakh mark and make its way to showrooms by the end of 2021 or early next year.
