UK's 2-wheeler brand Triumph driving into India in Jan

New year brings happy news for bike lovers. Get ready to welcome Britian's largest motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph, to India. Triumph follows European bike makers, KTM and BMW, to mark its presence in India. Expectations are we would get them by next month. To quote Ashish Joshi, MD, Triumph India, “We are launching our bikes at the auto expo and feel very confident to come to India as sales are very good and demand for big bikes is high.” These bikes would come as Completely Built Units (CBU).

Reports are that Triumph bikes would be seen at the Auto Expo that's starting on 7th of the first month next year. There, at the Expo, visitors would get to see at least two to three bikes. There will surely be a 250 cc bike to give a running competition to the Bajaj Kawasaki Ninja and Hyosung GT 250. High aims the manufacturer has to aim to compete with the top-end bikes even before the launch. In the words of the MD, “We are looking at setting up an assembly plant in India for CKD bikes for better pricing strategy.”

Triumph is expected to bring Tiger and Sprint models with impressive 1,050 cc, three-cylinder, evergreen Bonneville with twin-cylinder 865 cc. Rocket III would with a massive 2,294 cc, 675 cc Daytona in sports bike section, and the Speed Triple Street models. With an already high selling market in India, Triumph seeks to uplift the sales graph yet more. S of now, reports suggest a 50% rise in the sales of bikes. Triumph would give us three European bikes running smoothly on our roads.
