It continues to be more expensive than the Triumph Tiger 900
Honda has ridden the 2021 CRF1100L Africa Twin into the country at a starting point of Rs 15.96 lakh (ex-showroom India) for the manual gearbox variant. For the DCT option, you will now have to shell out Rs 17.50 lakh. Both these variants will continue to arrive in their larger Adventure Sports avatars, with no further update on when the regular variants will be arriving.
Here’s a table of how much the prices for the two variants have gone up by:
What exactly are the updates on the 2021 model? Umm, nothing. Honda has just swapped the already existing colour schemes on offer on the two models for 2021. The DCT gets the traditional white, red and blue livery while the manual now arrives in the black shade. The new asking price thus becomes particularly hard to swallow as you end up paying Rs 1.40 lakh extra for the same bike with no additional tech, features or performance.
More so, you could get the top-spec Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro for far less moolah. Yep, you can save over Rs 2 lakh if you were to opt for the British adventure motorcycle instead of the DCT Africa Twin. For that amount of money, you can equip your bike with good crash protection and go on a proper expedition to the Himalayas or any part of the country. Doesn’t that sound more appealing?
