Honda recently launched the latest iteration of its iconic mini bike, the Grom, in America. Kawasaki has now followed suit with the launch of the Z 125 Pro, ruffling a few feathers in Honda’s nest. So, we’ve compared the two mini-bikes against each other in these detailed images.
The 2021 Honda Grom packs a modern LED headlight setup whereas the 2021 Kawasaki Z125 Pro still gets a sombre-looking bulb light setup.

The 2021 Grom is powered by a Euro-5 compliant 123.9cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that churns out 10PS and 11.1Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the baby Kwacker gets a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor capable of 9.62Nm of peak torque. Though Kawasaki hasn’t mentioned the bike’s power figures, it’s reported to be around 14PS. The gearbox, though, is a smaller 4-speed unit.
On the features front, both the mini bikes get an LCD instrument cluster. The Honda Grom gets a 6-litre fuel tank whereas the Kawasaki Z125 Pro can accommodate 7.5 litres.
Both the Japanese mini bikes employ a USD fork and a monoshock. Braking hardware on the Honda Grom comprises a 220mm up front and a 190mm rear disc whereas the Kawasaki uses a smaller 200mm front and a 184mm rear disc.
The 2021 Grom tips the scales at 103kg and gets a seat height of 761mm. The 2021 Z125 Pro weighs in at 101.96kg and gets an 805.18mm tall saddle.
In the US, Honda offers the 2021 Grom in four paint schemes: Matte Black Metallic, Pearl White, Candy Blue and Queen Bee Yellow. Prices for the Honda minibike start at $ 3,399 (approximately Rs 2.53 lakh). The 2021 Kawasaki Z125 Pro retails at $3,299 (approximately Rs 2.45 lakh) and is available in three colours: Metallic Flat Spark Black, Pearl Robotic White with Candy Plasma Blue and Pearl Shining Yellow.
Given the high pricing, neither of the two will see Indian shores any time soon. But, which one makes more sense? Let us know in the comments section.
