BSA could kick things off by introducing a retro electric bike
BSA recently released a teaser video announcing its resurrection. And now, the company has released another teaser announcing its participation at the 2021 NEC Birmingham Motorcycle Show on December 4. Earlier, BSA had revealed that it will be introducing an electric bike first by the end of this year, followed by a petrol-powered motorcycle in mid-2022. Now with the latest teaser, it looks like the British bike maker is bang on time.

The teaser image shows a retro motorcycle with a wide handlebar, bar-end mirrors, circular headlamp and a muscular fuel tank. These aspects clearly point out to the possibility that the upcoming electric motorcycle will be retro-themed. This way, it stays true to its roots, all the while staying properly contemporary thanks to the electric powertrain. The upcoming BSA bikes will be made in the UK, and will be exported to other developed markets like the USA and Europe. Expect them to be properly premium, niche offerings commanding a hefty price.
In a related development, BSA has been testing a 650cc cruiser here in India. In fact, the motorcycle was spotted in August, and you can read more about it in our analysis here. Being a premium bikemaker, BSA will also be able to demarcate itself from more the affordable bikes by its sister companies: Jawa and upcoming Yezdi.
