Honda CB300R Vs Senke SK400-K: Photo Comparison

Honda CB300R's Chinese rival gets a dash cam and a few more modern features. Take a look at the two in images

At the beginning of this year, we witnessed the launch of the new Honda CB300R BS6. While we have already compared it to its primary rival, the BMW G310R, here's how the neo-retro naked stacks up against its Chinese counterpart, the Senke SK400-K. 

On the design front, both the motorcycles look almost the same. The fascia of the CB300R mounts a circular LED headlight with twin DRLs, while the SK400-K employs a circular projector LED headlight and a 2-megapixel camera for video recording at the front. 

Moving to the side, you'll see that both the bikes sport a few similar elements such as a chunky fuel tank, tank extensions, and an underbelly pan. However, there are differences, as the Honda CB300R gets a split-type step-up seat, single exhaust with bronze finish, and  9.7-litre fuel tank, while the Senke SK400-K gets an underbelly-mounted dual-port exhaust, a single piece seat and 16-litre tank with tank extensions and faux air intakes that look much more pronounced and add to the muscularity of the bike.

Both the motorcycles get a lean tail section, highlighting the meaty rear tyre. The two bikes get an LED taillight.

Talking about the features, the Honda CB300R gets all-LED lights, a side stand engine cut-off switch, and a blue backlit LCD instrument cluster that displays gear position and side-stand indicator along with the basic titbits. Meanwhile, the Senke SK400-K comes equipped with modern features such as inbuilt music controls with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lights, anti-theft fuel tank lid, and an LCD instrument cluster that displays fuel consumption, speed, and gear position. 

The Honda CB300R is powered by a BS6 compliant 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that dishes out 31.1PS and 27.5Nm. On the other hand, the Senke SK400-K employs a 378.8cc twin-cylinder unit that delivers 38.74PS and 35Nm. The engine is assisted by a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. 

The ride of both the bikes is taken care of by a USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The Honda CB300R gets a premium looking golden finish on its front fork, while the fork on Senke SK400-K gets a bronze treatment. 

For braking, both the bikes employ a single disc at each end that is further assisted by dual-channel ABS. That said, the ABS unit on the Honda CB300R is IMU-enhanced.

The wheels setup is also identical, as both of them roll on 17-inch alloys. Also, the tyre profile is the same as they use 110-section units at the front and 150-section units at the rear. The Honda CB300R uses MRF Revz, while the Senke SK400-K gets Timsun tyres. 

The Honda CB300R is priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in two colours: Pearl Spartan Red and Matte Steel Black. Meanwhile, there's no clarity on the price of the Senke SK400-K, but we reckon it will be more expensive, considering it’s a twin-cylinder motorcycle.
