New Honda CB Unicorn 160 to be launched on 18th December 2014?

Honda, the second largest brand in the Indian two wheeler industry, has send us a block date invitation for 18th December 2014. Titled as 'Looks Good. Is Good', the invitation says, "Honda Motorcycles and Scooter Indian Pvt. Ltd. gears up to unveil a new chapter..." The company hasn't told that what will be this new chapter, however, we strongly believe that it is the launch or unveiling of the new Honda CB Unicorn 160.

The upcoming Honda CB Unicorn 160 has already been spotted at a Honda  dealer's workshop and the bike was looking quite new in styling. Based on the same platform used for the CB Trigger including many components like the handle, switch-gears, console, wheels, suspension set-up and braking system.

The Bike will be powered by an all new 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which will be mated to a 5-speed transmission. Looking at the power figures of the Trigger, the new mill is expected to deliver around 15bhp of maximum power. The new engine is also expected to get the HET (Honda Eco Technology), which will help the bike to deliver a better fuel efficiency.

The new Unicorn 160 is expected to be priced slightly over the existing 150cc model and will be positioned against the Yamaha FZ series, Suzuki Gixxer and Hero Xtreme Sports.
