Costs more than the Indian pricing of the Honda Hornet 2.0 in the Japanese market!
Honda has launched the 2021 model of the Dio 110 in its home country, Japan. Even though it carries the Dio nomenclature, you won’t be able to recognise this scooter from the looks of it. Why so?
The headlight is mounted right on the handlebar rather than the apron. The overall design is a mix of sporty and practicality.
Powering the scooter is an air-cooled, 110cc engine that makes 8.7PS of power and 9Nm of torque. Stopping power is courtesy a front disc and rear drum brake setup. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a side-mounted single shock at the rear.

On the feature front, it gets an immobilizer and an easy to read console. It displays the speed, fuel level, distance and other basic information. There’s cubbyhole that can hold a 500ml water bottle. With an 18L underseat storage, Honda claims that the Dio 110 can easily fit a full-size helmet.
However, for the asking price of it, Honda could have added LED lights, a USB charging port and an external fuel filler cap.
Last but not least, Honda Japan sells the Dio 110 in four different colours. Matt Stary Blue Metallic, Matt Galaxy Black Metallic, Pearl Jasmine White and Descent Silver Metallic. The first two colours retail for JPY 2,23,000 (approximately Rs 1.54 lakh) and the latter two retail for JPY 2,20,00 (approximately Rs 1.52 lakh). Honda has no plans to bring this model of the Dio 110 to India as the pricing will have to be lowered and the fact that the current version of the Honda Dio is doing well in the country.
As of now, Honda is aiming to launch aH’Ness CB350-based cafe racer in India. You can read more about it here.
