Honda has just teased the arrival of the BS6 version of its stylish 125cc scooter: the Grazia 125. It will be based on the Activa 125 BS6 and will get all of the key updates that the Activa received. Expect Honda to launch the Grazia 125 BS6 in the coming months, with prices starting from Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Honda has taken a while to bring the BS6 updates to the Grazia 125 and we can see why. Honda has redesigned the Grazia: it looks a lot edgier in the teasers. It gets new LED headlights with a LED DRL similar to the one seen on the new Dio. Aside from that, it is hard to make out the new changes to the styling of the scooter in the released teaser.
That said, the digital console has been revised. The bar-type tachometer is present on both sides of the speedometer now. Also, it now gets a clock and range indicator. The other data that we guess will be displayed will be the odometer, two tripmeters, real-time and average fuel efficiency indicator.
Powering the Grazia 125 will be the same 124cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that made its debut on the Activa 125 BS6. On the Activa, it puts out 8.29PS and 10.3Nm. While this mellow engine tune works on the Activa, we hope that Honda tunes the motor differently and gives the Grazia a bit more oomph to match the swag. The engine will come equipped with an ACG starter, engine start-stop system, side-stand engine immobiliser and other such features that came along on the Activa 125 BS6.
Much like the Activa 125, the Grazia is expected to run on a 12-/10-inch wheel setup. It is likely that alloy rims are offered as an option. Also what is likely to be an option will be the 190mm front disc brake. The 130mm drum brake at the rear is expected to be standard, packing in CBS as well. Suspension duties will be handled by a telescopic fork and three-step preload-adjustable monoshock.
Once launched, the Grazia 125 will resume its rivalry with the TVS NTorq 125, Aprilia SR 125 and Suzuki Burgman Street 125.
