- The new Activa 125 is Honda’s first BS6-compliant two-wheeler.
- It makes slightly less power and torque compared to the BS4 variant.
- But it makes up for the lack of performance with a ton of features.
At the launch of the Honda SP 125, the President and CEO Honda Two-wheelers India, Minoru Kato, revealed that the BS6 Honda Activa 125 has tallied close to 25,000 units since launch this festive season. Honda’s first BS6-compliant two-wheeler, the new Activa 125, was launched in September this year and deliveries commenced from last month onwards.
Kato also revealed that the Japanese brand witnessed a double-digit sales growth this festive season. These have helped the Activa range become the highest selling two-wheeler in September with a tally of 2,48,939 units. The Hero Splendor range was a close second with 2,44,667 units.

The sales tally is pretty impressive considering the BS6 iteration is slightly less powerful and offers less torque than the BS4 variant. It lags behind by 0.34PS and 0.24Nm, but Honda has made up for the lack in performance with a whole load of tangible features. It gets real-time and average fuel efficiency, range and silent starter, among others. It is also claimed to be 13per cent more efficient than the older model. Apart from these, the Activa badging also helped prospective customers connect with the new scooter well.
As far as price is concerned, the base variant of the BS6 Activa is around Rs 6,800 dearer than the base BS4 Activa 125. It is priced from Rs 67,490 for the base Standard variant, Rs 70,990 for the alloy wheel version and Rs 74,490 for the top-end Deluxe version.
