The italian two wheeler manufacturer Ducati has finally revealed the pictures and specifications of its upcoming bike 1199 Superleggera. Superleggera is an Italian word, which means super light. The bike is based on the Ducati 1199 Panigale, though it has been made from some extra light materials to reduce the weight of the machine. The new 1199 Superleggera weighs only 155kgs (dry), which is 10kg lesser than that of the 1199 Panigale R.
The 1199 Superleggera uses the same 1198cc Superquadro (L-twin cylinder, 4 titanium valves per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled) engine, which also powers the 1199 Panigale. Using titanium connecting rods, the engine is capable to generate a maximum power output of over 200bhp at 11,500rpm, while the peak torque is almost similar to the Panigale at 134Nm at 10,200rpm.
Apart all these amazing racing qualities, features of the bike will enhance the track experience on this bike. It features Öhlins adjustable FL916 43mm forks with TiN at the front and fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit with titanium spring with adjustable linkage on aluminum single-sided rear swingarm. Braking system of the bike has double 330mm semi-floating radially mounted discs with Brembo Monobloc M50- 4piston callipers on the front wheel and 245mm disc with 2-piston calliper on the rear wheel, both are assisted by Bosch's 9ME ABS system. Other advanced features of the bike are full TFT instrument panel, Engine Brake Control (EBC), riding mode control, Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Ducati Traction Control (DTC), power mode control, DDA (latest Ducati Data Analyzer) and the world's best Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP racing tyres.
The bike is looking quite good in Rosso Corsa Red and White paint job, and expected to be launched during the 2013 EICMA.
