Honda and Delhi Traffic Police organizes ‘Road Safety Summer Camp’

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), in association with Delhi Traffic Police has inaugurated ‘Road Safety Summer Camp’ in Delhi today. The ‘Road Safety Summer Camp’ aims at engaging and educating school kids in a fun way, while briefing them on the intricacies of ‘road-safety.’
With more than 100 excited young minds gathered at the Traffic Training Park at Baba Kharak Singh Marg, the ‘Road Safety Summer Camp’ was inaugurated by Mr. Satyendra Garg - Joint Commissioner of Police – General Administration, Delhi, Mr. Muktesh Chander - Special Commissioner of Police Traffic, Delhi and Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria - Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMSI in the presence of eminent dignitaries and senior officials.
Noteworthy, that Delhi families are lapping up this initiative and already over 1200 kids have registered for the Road Safety Summer Camp. Clearly showing that road safety is top priority for Delhi families. The Road safety Summer Camp which has started today will continue till June 26th.
Delighted by the response of Delhi families, Mr. Yadvinder S. Guleria, Senior Vice President- Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Honda has associated with Delhi Traffic Police to make summer of 2015 really special for children. Educating young minds on ‘safety with fun’ is our priority. With the Road Safety Summer Camp, Honda wants to integrate playtime of kids with learning time through exciting educational games on Road Safety awareness. Attending this camp shall make these kids rad safety influencers in their families today and responsible adult road users of tomorrow.”
Honda’s Road Safety Camp will include activities which combine both theoretical & practical experiences for kids. The specially designed fun engagements like Junior Investigators (road hazard identification exercise), Painting & Traffic Quiz Contests will make the younger ones aware on basics of road safety.
High school students will be trained on Honda Riding Trainer (to create awareness about potential risks on road). Kids in the age group of 9-12 years will be trained on Honda’s CRF 50 model, specially imported from Japan to help them understand the importance of safety riding. At the end of the camp, students will be also be awarded with a certificate of completion.
Honda continues to drive road safety awareness through free of cost training at its existing eight traffic training parks in Jaipur, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Chandigarh, Yeola (Nashik) and most recent one in Hyderabad. Brand Honda has received encouraging response for its various initiatives that also include special initiatives for females and kids. So far, more than 1.53 lac individuals have been successfully trained at these parks.
