While all eyes were on the new Ducati Streetfighter V4, the Italian brand also showcased the new Panigale V2. The all-new bike is the entry-level offering in the Panigale range and gets a complete cosmetic makeover to be in sync with the flagship Panigale V4. To distinguish the Panigale V2 from its elder sibling, it features a different fuel tank, fairing and a stubby exhaust muffler. However it carries forward the devilish looking LED headlight, which is a signature design element of the Panigale V4. Also, it features a new TFT screen and revised switchgear.
Powering the new Panigale V2 is a Euro 5-compliant, 955cc, V-twin motor churning out 155PS at 10,750rpm and peak torque of 104 Nm arrives at 9,000rpm. The 6-speed gearbox comes with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. Electronics package includes a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (6D IMU), four riding modes, cornering ABS, Ducati traction control (DTC) EVO 2; Ducati wheelie control (DWC) EVO and engine brake control (EBC) EVO.
The die-cast aluminium monocoque frame has been suspended on fully adjustable 43 mm Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) and a fully adjustable Sachs monoshock. The Panigale V2 also comes with a Sachs steering damper and aluminium single-sided swingarm.
We expect the Ducati Panigale V2 to make its India debut in the first half of 2020 and it’s likely to be priced around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
