Italian manufacturer Ducati recorded highest-ever global sales in 2015 as the company sold 54,800 motorcycles, i.e it registered 22% growth compared to the year 2014. US became the largest market for the company as it recorded 14% growth compared to 2014. Europe became a best-selling market for Ducati, it came as a pleasant surprise as company performed well in home and recorded 53% growth including 37% increase in UK market, 24% increase in Germany and 22% increase in France.

If we take a look at the Asia Pacific region, Ducati recorded a 46% growth in China. However, it will be interesting to see company’s performance in China this year as Ducati’s partnership with the local importer Jet Sky Development came to an end on 31st December and was handed over to the parent company Audi’s Chinese subsidiary.

"The record sales of 2015 are the result of our company's courage and skill", stated Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding. "Ducati closes 2015 with record volumes and also a substantial growth of 22% over 2014. During the year, Ducati not only launched successful new motorcycles, but also a new brand, Ducati Scrambler, which immediately won global acclaim with over 16,000 sales worldwide."

Talking about the best selling models of Ducati, Scrambler stands first on the list as 16,000 units were sold in 2015 or we can say it contributed to 29.1% of overall sales. It is also one of top-10 best-selling motorcycles globally, said Ducati. Second is Multistrada 1200 which sold 8,000 units and then came Monster 821 with 6,500 units. Other models like 1299 Panigale, 899 Panigale and Diavel also performed well in the market.

“This impressive performance, a landmark one for Ducati, confirms the soundness of the strategy of expansion and consolidation in global markets and highlights the energy and professionalism of the over 700 dealers who cover no less than 90 countries”, says Andrea Buzzoni, global sales and marketing director of Ducati Motor Holding. “Such growth confirms, in the vast majority of countries, the validity of both our products and our strategy: indeed, for the first time in Ducati’s history, one of our bikes, the Ducati Scrambler, made it into the ‘Top 10’ list of the world’s best-selling bikes.”

As we are all set to welcome the Italian manufacturer in the coming auto-expo, let’s hope to see another excellent year ahead for the two-wheeler giant.
