Ducati has launched the 959 Panigale at Rs. 14.04 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) and its deliveries will start in the country from July 2016. Along with it, the company has showcased four more offerings in the form of Hyperstrada, Scrambler, Multistrada and Diavel at the India Bike Week (IBW). As Ducati missed the 2016 Auto Expo, it was expected to bring its offering to the 2016 edition of IBW. The 959 Panigale was first unveiled at the EICMA 2015 and will take the place of discontinued 899 Panigale. Being taller and having a wider fairing with twin headlight setup, side mounted exhaust and updated electronics as compared to the previous model, the bike is equipped with a more powerful engine.
The 959 Panigale houses a 955cc, Superquadro V-Twin engine that generates a maximum power of 157bhp with a peak torque of 107Nm at 9,000 rpm. The motorcycle also features self-servo mechanism, new rear-view mirrors similar to 1299 Panigale, shorter wheelbase, steeper suspension, traction control, engine braking control, ride by wire technology, riding modes, quick shifter, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Ducati data analyzer to keep the track of performance and lap records.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Ravi Avalur, managing director, Ducati India, said, “We are very excited to bring the new super-mid Ducati Superbike to India. The Ducati 959 Panigale is the perfect balance between impressive design and breath-taking performance and it embodies Ducati’s premium sportbike culture."
