One of the largest vehicle manufacturers - Volkswagen that recently suffered a major dent in its reputation because of the Emission Scandal is now seeing even more worse days. Last week, Volkswagen took a whopping 20 billion Euro ($21.1 billion) one-year loan from 13 banks and is currently under huge pressure to strengthen its finances. If sources have to be believed, the German automaker might sell its three brands - Ducati, Lamborghini and Bentley if it finds itself unable to clear the debts.
Out of the luxury and extravagant brands like Audi, Bugatti, Porsche, Skoda, etc, VW chose Ducati, Lamborghini and Bentley for sell out purposes as these are probably the least valuable brands that come under the company. "Volkswagen may also consider divest luxury car brands Bentley and Lamborghini or motorbike brand Ducati, although these units don't really move the needle," a source revealed. On the contrary, the manufacturer declined by saying, "No specific assets have been discussed."

However, the sacrifice of Lamborghini will definitely give a huge blow to the company as it stands currently shoulder to shoulder with the best sports cars on earth like those of Ferrari and McLaren. Ducati, on the same way is known for one of the finest superbikes it manufacturers with majestic design philosophy. If this happens, it will be interesting to see the future direction of Ducati and its position that it currently holds in the Worldwide Superbike segment.
After Volkswagen was found guilty in the largest automotive scandal in the history, it was expected to pay a huge amount in order to cover fines, lawsuits and vehicle refits. Volkswagen stated that the number of cars whose emissions and fuel consumptions have been altered is somewhat lesser than 8,00,000 units that was announced previous month. The manufacturer expects a total cost of at least 2 billion Euros from the matter.
