Surprisingly, the new colour replaces Ducati’s traditional red paint scheme
Ducati has introduced a new colour for its SuperSport range and boy does it look sweet! The Italian sports tourer now comes in a matte finished Titanium Grey colour with the red frame and wheels adding a hint of contrast. In case you opt for the side mounted panniers, the plastic inserts on the side of the panniers will also be colour co-ordinated. Unfortunately, the new colour replaces the traditional Ducati red paint scheme. That said, we do expect Ducati to retain its signature red colour for the higher-spec SuperSport S variant.
The new paint option should be ideal for buyers looking for a subtle and elegant paint job instead of the flashy red. As much as we like the new colour, sadly, it is only available for the UK markets right now. But we hope to see the colour on our shores as well.
Ducati sells the SuperSport in two variants in India - Standard and the SuperSport S, which retail for Rs 12.08 lakh and Rs 13.39 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom) respectively. Both the motorcycles are powered by the same 937cc, L-Twin Testastretta engine, which develops 110PS of power at 9500rpm and 93Nm of torque at 6500rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Ducati has loaded the SuperSport with goodies like ride-by-wire, different power modes, three-level Bosch ABS and eight-level traction control. The more premium SuperSport S, on the other hand, gets more premium features like adjustable Ohlins suspension setup at both ends, a rear cowl and a bi-directional quickshifter.
Being a sports tourer at heart, the Ducati SuperSport competes against the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.
